Haffeera is a mixed-media artist working within painting, printmaking and illustration. She creates art representing environments that bring awareness to current and historical affairs, using symbolism and metaphors framing elements of significance against detailed imagery, capturing moments gathered through observation, photography, sketches and research, transformed into a juxtaposition of imagery using painting, mark-making, poetry and printing.
Haffeera studied art and design in:
2000 a Foundation Art and Design from Camberwell School of Art (UAL)
2003 a BA(Hons) in Graphic and Media Design from LCP (LCC)
2010, an MA Commendation in Communication Design from Kingston University
She created private and public commissions:
- Community mural on Barnard Close in Woolwich
- Greenwich city view A2 Water Colour painting
- Playful Foxes Oil on Canvas
- Somaliland imagery poetry
- Pomegranate Scarf design printed on silk.
As a printmaker, she enjoys the element of surprise using layers. From colour to images combined with mark-making a technique that gives her work a sense of movement and texture. All skills that she initially learnt at secondary school combined with a course in reproduction printing in a repro house a skill set she took into university where she learnt more.
As a graphic designer, she has worked in the private and public sector for over 30 years. Haffeera has worked on editorial projects for magazines and newspapers, start-up apps, bid documents and more...
