Ink on paper
I first saw a Flamingo in 1987, in California. I remember. I remember, watching them and thinking how majestic they are. Twisting around each other to clean and feed.
I automatically loved the magic and joy they can bring.
Flamingos are indigenous to the South Americas. From Central America and Mexico, like all species, they have been introduced to other areas of the world, including
Trinidad, where I remember seeing these birds on an island as if they were on a holiday.
These two Flamingos were photographed by myself and form, the base of some limited edition prints, that tell the story of the background of the creatures, I sell online.
There are a few species of Flamingos. The Great Flamingo are the most popular and are not endangered unlike the Andean, James's and Lesser flamingo. Each shape in this artwork is tribal symbolic, representing strength and renewal.
