  White Garden Flower
Oil Painting
flower
I loved the delicate nature of the petals of the Iris. It reminds me of crimpled tissue paper or creased fabric. This was painted in a outdoor garden, where I watched insects flying into the flower. This made me realise how hypnotic flowers can be. I wanted to draw the viewer into the painting by using lines emphasising the shape and power of the flower head as a Bee would be to its inner beauty.
